As a music lover, there are always some songs that you just can’t get rid of it. Whenever it plays on radio, even just a strum of guitar strings will give you a goose bump no matter how many times you had listened to it, year after year. Personally I have a couple which always haunting me this way. I am sure everyone does have some in their head too.
The most killing song for me got to be Wind of Change, by Scorpions. No matter where I am and what I’m doing, this song never failed to amaze me. The best moment would be when I am alone and driving at the highway, I would definitely get the goose bumps just when the music started to play. When this song slides into the main solo, I would have so much feeling inside and just can’t help getting tears in my eyes. By the time it reached the end of the track, I am always full with emotions. I must say there’s no other track in the world would get me into this feeling like this song.
There’s another great song always give me a chill when it get to play – Valerie, sing by the late Amy Winehouse. I have to admit that I’m so connected to the lyrics of this track. It reminds me of my younger days when I met my lady, and just like what Amy sing, she drives me crazy and sometimes I just wonder what is she doing over there, how was her day end.. I once saw a clip on YouTube where Amy Winehouse sings this track in live. Wow! You got to love this talented singer because she really knew how to perform this song so well and easy.
As a child I always listen to Scarified by Elton John. That was during the time when the TV always playing the same music video whenever they have free slot before or after the show. I loved that music video so much that I can almost remember every scene from it. Although I may not understand in depth the lyrics of the song, but rhythm and melody made me feel sad and never failed to give me a goose bump. Even nowadays when I catch this track from the radio, it will still getting my eyes in tears. I always believe that this is one of the masterpieces sung by Elton John.
These are some of my favorite tracks over the years. But that is only if I am not the one who playing them. Embarrassing to admit that once I started playing these tracks with my guitar, the magic seems disappear with the strum on my guitar strings. I did try pretty hard to practice these songs day and night, but somehow I just seem not able to embrace the magic of the songs. Well, wise men said, it takes talent to create a masterpiece.
And I am not a good guitar player. I know.
